Understand preparation time, delivery and import charges before you order. The same store shipping policy applies to Japan Book Trading and Y Goods Japan.
Tracked shipping
Shipping is included for destinations currently available at checkout. We use FedEx or Japan Post, selected according to the destination, parcel, item and available service.
Not every item can be shipped to every country. Enter your delivery address at checkout to see availability.
Preparation comes before transit
Orders usually dispatch within 10 business days after payment confirmation, unless the product page states a different timeframe. Pre-orders dispatch after release and arrival at our facility.
A carrier transit estimate starts after dispatch. It is not the full time from purchase to delivery.
United States: import duties arranged by us.
Orders sent to a U.S. delivery address ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), regardless of order value. JB Trading arranges applicable import duties and tariffs through the shipping service; no import duty should be due from you on delivery.
U.S. state or local sales tax is separate and appears at checkout when applicable. Customs or the carrier may still request information for clearance. If you receive an unexpected duty request, contact us with the notice and order number.
Outside the United States: local import charges may apply.
JB Trading does not currently collect non-U.S. import VAT, GST or customs duties at checkout. The recipient may need to pay import taxes, duties, brokerage or carrier clearance fees before or at delivery.
The amount depends on the destination, product classification, origin and customs value. Books, toys and games may be treated differently. Included shipping does not mean that local import charges are included.

A release date is not a guaranteed dispatch or arrival date. Orders containing pre-order items generally ship once all items are available, unless the product page or a separate agreement says otherwise.
If you need an available item sooner, contact us before placing it in the same order as a pre-order. Combined shipping may be possible before processing, but is not automatic.

Tracking is emailed after dispatch. Delivery estimates can change because of customs, carrier conditions, holidays or weather. Please provide a complete address and respond to any legitimate clearance requests promptly.
For a delayed, lost or damaged parcel, contact us with your order number. For damage, keep the packaging and include clear photographs of the parcel and item.
How import charges are assessed
Shipping and import charges are different costs. Free shipping covers transport. Customs considers destination rules, product classification, country of origin and customs value; a book, toy and game cartridge can be treated differently. Carriers may add clearance fees.
There is no single non-U.S. percentage that applies to every order. Check the destination customs authority and carrier if an import cost affects your decision. Shipping from Japan does not by itself establish where an item was manufactured.
For a carrier payment or information request, check it against your tracking and order details. Outside the U.S., charges may need to be paid before delivery. For an unexpected U.S. duty request, send us the notice and order number. Customs documents use accurate descriptions and transaction values.
Can you lower the declared value or mark an order as a gift?
No. Customs documents show an accurate description and transaction value.
Can I return an item?
Our current policy allows you to request a return within 30 days after receiving the item, subject to the policy conditions and applicable rights. Contact us before sending anything back.
